IMPORTANT NOTES ON USING
HI-FIRE IRIDS IN STAINED GLASS
Our Hi-fire iridescent coating needs a little extra care when applying patina products.

What Can Happen?
A reaction is possible between the chemicals in patina and the metal oxides used in creating our hi-fire irid coating. Once the reaction occurs, it can not be reversed, potentially causing discoloration of the glass.
Learn How to Prevent It
Since this reaction is permanent, prevention is key. We recommend these practices for the best outcome:
1. Apply Carefully
Use a cotton swab to apply patina only to the solder lines.
2. Wipe/Rinse Immediately
Wipe off excess patina immediately, then. thoroughly wash the piece.
3. Avoid Prolonged Exposure
Do not let the patina solution sit on the glass at any time.
A NOTE ON POSSIBLE
Cloudiness In Hi-Fire Iridescents
The coating on a hi-fire Irid sheet can occasionally appear cloudy or hazy. This will fire out if the glass is fused but if you’re planning to use it in a stained glass piece, we recommend selecting a different sheet.
